This year the Sydney Cambodia Vision Fundraiser dinner was held at the recently renovated Crystal Seafood Restaurant in Canley Vale.
People braved the cold on a typical winter night and tickets sold out earlier than anticipated for this year.
It was a fun-filled evening with lots of dancing and live music, traditional performances and a visit from the governor general, mayor and local politicians.
Sydney Apsara Dance Group and Cambodian Living Arts & Cultures shone a spotlight on traditional Cambodian cultural dance and was hugely popular.
We were honoured to have Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley, AO, QC, Governor of NSW; Mr Dennis Wilson; Nick Lalich MP, and Member for Cabramatta, Fairfield City Mayor Frank Carbone.
As usual the raffle prizes and silent auctions were a big hit for everyone where proceeds from them together with donations on the night go to purchase medication for patients, a much needed upgrade to ageing medical equipment, and supplies for cataract surgeries. A big thank you to the people who donated and provided items in the raffle and auctions.
Thank you to all of the people who attended that night to make it a successful event.
